I would like to apologize in advance for the quality of my pictures but going out to dinner after such a long time I could not think about bringing my camera with me. I know, yes, a mobile phone is a camera as I have written before, but please see the availiable light of the place and give me some credit.
We are at the center of Athens, specifically at the edge of Plaka, at the restaurant 2Mazi. It is a Greek cuisine restaurant, recommended by the guide Michelin.
It is Saturday night, the weather here is kind of sweet, our mood is high and we arrive at the entrance of this beautiful, romantic, little yard. All kind of lattern are hanging everywhere lighting the place, flowers are all around, warm atmosphere, jazz music playing and a really friendly welcome compose the scenery. We sit at a small table for two at a corner of the yard and we smile at each other simply because it is such a happy place.
We quickly decide what to order and then after a small -discreet with humor chit chat with our waiter, we relax and enjoy our red wines.
We started our meal with a pleasant welcome surprice form the chef Chari Nikolouzo. The appetizer that I quickly photographed in order for me to have the proper time to enjoy, was egg whip and fish roe.
Next, we enjoyed a variety of breads and white tarama which we did not want to end.
Before our main dishes arrive we shared a delicious beetroot risotto with smoked pork from Mani and dried leek.
As main dishes we chose from the menu the beef fillet with burnt butter sabayon, a variety of mushrooms and red wine sauce and beef cheeks with puree and baby carrots glaze.
As a dessert we shared a delicious black forest -which I do not normally eat, but here it was impossible to resist especially when this comes with white chocolate ice cream.
It was an exceptional tasteful experience accompanied with an excellent service in a warm friendly environment.
