A couple of days ago, I made Polpetes. The Greek style! And while I was frying the cakes, our kitchen was smelling heavenly. I ate most of them by myself and I barely managed to keep two /three of them for the pictures, because my husband ate the rest of them. But polpetes, do tend to have that reaction on us.  Anyway, I find that recipe fantastic, because it is really quick to prepare it, very easy to make it and the result is so delicious, that they will ask you to make a few more... and a few more... and then a few more... Polpetes are the perfect dish for those who love potatoes delicacies and starters. We usually accompany them with cream cheese Philadelphia or yogurt sauce. blurpixels photography blog greek recipes polpetes potatoe cakes I am going to give you the recipe I made and had 12 cakes and if you need more you can adjust the quantities. You will need: 3 medium size potatoes 150 grams Greek feta cheese (chopped) 1 tbs fresh dill (finely minced) 1 red onion (finely minced) 1 tbs of fresh lemon juice 1 egg (beaten) Olive oil (for fry) Flour Salt /Pepper blurpixels photography blog greek recipes polpetes potatoe cakes Boil the potatoes with some salt. When ready, mash them on a large bowl along with the feta, the dill, the onion, the egg, the lemon juice, salt & pepper. Mix them well and place on the fridge until the mixture is easily molded. When ready, take it out of the fridge, mix well again and divide it into 12 mini balls. Use a spoon to flatten the mini balls a bit, flour them and fry until you like their color on both sides. tip: do not add any yellow cheese, it will melt and open the cakes on the fry. Enjoy!! 🙂 blurpixels photography blog greek recipes polpetes potatoe cakes blurpixels photography blog greek recipes polpetes potatoe cakes blurpixels photography blog greek recipes polpetes potatoe cakes
